BOSTON, Mass. – Despite a career-high 28 points from
Meg Dixon (Hanover, Mass.), women's basketball dropped a 88-74 decision to Mitchell College Saturday afternoon at the Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
On the day Dixon went 10-for-24 from the field, 6-for-14 from distance. Dixon also led the Beacons on the glass as she grabbed seven boards, three of which were on the offensive side of the floor.
Amina Wiley was solid all afternoon for the Mariners, as the forward dropped in 26 points while grabbing 13 rebounds. She finished 11-for-15 from the field, and had seven offensive rebounds. Dede Stevenson finished with 23 points, 13 of which came from the free throw line.
Junior
Keriann Farina (Arlington, Mass.) dropped in a career-high 13 points.
Jasharee Greene (Boston, Mass.) added 12 points and seven rebounds.
Rayla Gonzalez also hit a career-high for points with 18, as she went 7-for-13 with a pair of 3-pointers off the bench.
UMB bounced back from a 47-39 deficit at the half, and outscored the Mariners 24-13 to take a 63-60 lead into the final quarter of regulation. The Beacons would hold onto their slim lead for just the first three minutes of the fourth quarter. Mitchell would us a 10-2 run to retake the lead for the final time on their way to earning the win.

- On the day, the Beacons shot 40.0% (28-70) from the field and 34.8% from 3-point range (8-23)
- Mitchell scored 42 of their 88 points in the paint, and 22 points off of turnovers
- Saturday's match-up was the first-ever meeting between UMB and Mitchell
- After hitting just five three-pointers in their first two games, the Beacons knocked down eight 3-pointers, including four in the third quarter alone.
