PROVIDENCE, R.I. –
Mary Jo Murphy (Worcester, Mass.) continued her offensive dominance as she registered a pair of goals to lift women's soccer to a 5-1 Little East Conference win over Rhode Island College Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beacons wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as they netted two of their three first half goals in the first 7:37.
Cal Pitts (Marshfield, Mass.) scored her first goal of the campaign to break the scoreless draw.
Georgia Bonney (Kingston, Mass.) assisted on the play as UMB led 1-0 less than two minutes in.
Murphy would register her career-best ninth goal six minutes later on an unassisted play.
Kaylee Haynes (Bridgewater, Mass.) got in on the scoring action in the 38
th minute to give the Beacons a comfortable lead heading into the break.
RIC ended the shutout bid for the Beacons and junior goalkeeper
Maria Spylios in the 59
th minute with Jayde Fernandez scoring a long-range shot.
That lone goal for the Anchorwomen was countered by UMB 34 seconds later, when
Grace Oliver (Rockland, Mass.) scored her third goal of the season, off a
Maggie Kelley (Paxton, Mass.) assist.
Murphy would connect with
Morgan Palma (Halifax, Mass.) in the 66
th minute to seal the victory for the Beacons, as the senior registered her 10 goal in the one-sided win.
Spylios finished off the Anchorwomen with four saves, while
Caroline Richards (Duxbury, Mass.) made one stop for UMB.
Reagan Kerecz finished with seven saves in the losing effort.
