DANBURY, Conn. –
Marcelle Tiscareno (El Paso, Texas) had one of her best regular season conference matches of her career to lead volleyball to a crucial 3-1 win over WestConn Friday evening at the WCSU Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After dropping a 25-20 decision in the first set, the Beacons rallied with three-straight victories to keep their postseason dreams alive. In the second set, UMB downed WestConn 25-18, before earning a hard fought 26-24 in in the third. The fourth set, saw WestConn control the momentum early, but the Beacons completed the rally, and with a crucial black from
Taryn Broughal (Branford, Conn.) UMB earned a 25-21 decision.
Tiscraeno's match-leading performance consisted of 15 kills and a .545 hitting percentage. Broughal's huge block came at the turning point of the fourth set, as she finished the match with two block solos.
Emilia Czapiewska (Saint Paul, Minn.) registered 11 kills on 30 swings for a .233 hitting percentage.
Carsen Komminsk (Worthington, Ohio) tallied 35 assists and had two aces.
Aleks Qose (Athens, Greece) led all servers with four of the Beacons 15 aces.
Ally Dean (Portland, Ore) had three aces, but it was her defensive play that really stood out as she put-up a team-high 15 digs, while also posting 30 service receptions.
Komminsk helped the defense with her 11 digs.

- Komminsk is now just the second player in program history to record 2,000 assists in a career, as she sits with 2,055 heading into the final week of the regular season
