BOSTON, Mass. – In their final non-conference match of the 2021 season, volleyball was handed a 3-0 loss by Amherst College Tuesday evening in Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Amherst got Tuesday's match off to a solid start as they jumped out to a commanding lead and never looked back. The Mammoths took the opening stanza by the final of 25-16. UMass Boston began to build some momentum in the second and third sets, but Amherst managed to earn back-to-back 25-20 victories to complete the win.
Jamie Dailey led the Mammoths with 11 kills and hit .385 on the night.
Emilia Czapiewska (Saint Paul, Minn.) recorded a match-high 13 kills, while
Marcelle Tiscareno (El Paso, Texas) finished with 11 put-downs.
Tiscareno also finished the match with a team-best .400 hitting percentage.
Carsen Komminsk (Worthington, Ohio) tallied 33 assists.
Ally Dean (Portland, Ore.) continued to play some of her best volleyball totaling 15 digs to go along with 13 service receptions and two aces.
Taryn Broughal (Branford, Conn.) led the Beacons at the net with two solo blocks and one block assist. She also had four kills in the loss.

- In total the score was tied a combined 17 times, 12 of which occurred in the second set
- The two teams exchanged control of the lead nine times in Tuesday's match
