Flagg Signs Pro Contract With NWHL Buffalo Beauts

First goalie in program history to ink a pro contract

BUFFALO, N.Y. – After closing out a standout career as one of the top netminders in women's hockey history, Caty Flagg (Methuen, Mass.) will continue her playing career after signing her first professional contract with the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL).

Flagg becomes the first goaltender in UMass Boston history to sign a professional contract.  The 2020 New England Hockey Conference Goalie of the Year, Flagg was beyond impressive during her senior campaign.

In 26 games played, Flagg registered 800 saves, a .942 save percentage and a 1.84 goals against average.  She ended the year with a 12-11-3 record and led the Beacons back to the conference tournament semi-final round.

During her two seasons on the harbor campus, Flagg posted 1,074 stops making her just the fourth goaltender in program history to cross the 1,000 mark.  She also had 15 wins to her credit, and saw time in over 2,200 minutes in a Beacons jersey.
