BOSTON, Mass.—In December we counted down the "Beacons Teams of the Teens," ranking some of the top teams of the 2010s. With a little bit of downtime and help from our coaches, we are working on crafting a starting lineup for each of our programs from athletes who played during the 2010s.
Each week, we will look at a different program and come up with a "realistic" starting lineup, using players who played at least one of their seasons between 2010-2019. The only rules are that a student-athlete must have played at least two years at UMass Boston and they have to be placed in a spot that they played at some point during their time as a Beacon.
Our 13th starting lineup is from the baseball program. The sports information office collaborated with 16th-year head coach Brendan Eygabroat to cut down the list to a 25-man NCAA Tournament roster, after the Beacons solidified themselves as one of the top programs in the nation. Eygabroat gave a brief description of what made each player so special.
