HOW IT HAPPENED

With the win the Beacons close out 2019 on a four-game win-streak, with three of the four wins coming against NEHC opponents.

During their recent win-streak the Beacons have outscored their opponents 16-3 and have two shutouts.

Katie Leffler (Key Largo, Fla.) ended the scoreless draw around the midway point of the first period as she scored an unassisted goal to take over as the team leader in goals, assists, and points.

The Beacons got their second goal of the night with just under six minutes to play in the second period, when Lizzy Saxer (Colorado Springs, Colo.) set-off the horn.  Mia Sacco (Plymouth, Mass.) assisted on the play which all but clinched the win for the Beacons.

Their insurance goals came in the third period when Hannah MacDougall (South Dartmouth, Mass.) scored her seventh goal of the campaign less than two minutes in.  Jenessa Hernandez (Chicago, Ill.) put the final nail in the coffin for the Vikings as she scored her second of the year with less than three minutes to play in regulation.

Leffler and Jane Ann Drill (Madison, Wis.) assisted on the play.

Flagg's night consisted of 23 saves, while the Beacons defense held the Vikings scoreless on five power-play attempts.
