Box Score CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Led by Samuel Bockman's game-high 23 points MIT handed men's basketball their second straight loss as they earned an 84-61 decision Tuesday evening at Rockwell Cage.

UMass Boston (3-2)
MIT (3-2)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Bockman fueled MIT's offense as he came off the bench to shoot 8-for-14 from the field and 7-for-9 from the line. He also finished second on the glass as he pulled down six rebounds, while Nacho Nwana finished with a game-high nine boards.
For the Beacons, Dan Powers (Westwood, Mass.) had a strong game as he finished second on the team with 16 points to go along with nine rebounds. Sam Freeman (Boston, Mass.) finished with 17 rebounds, as the senior forward went 7-for-15 from the field, and 3-for-5 at the charity stripe.
MIT took control of Tuesday's contest behind a 46.9% showing from the field in the first half, while the Beacons struggled to build any early momentum as they shot just 25.9%. However, in the second half, the Beacons offense began to hit their stride as they shot 50% over the final half. Unfortunately, MIT would match the Beacons basket for basket as they too shot 50% to close out Tuesday's non-conference game.
Freeman led the Beacons in the second half with 10 points, while Bockman did a majority of his damage over the final 20 minutes scoring 15 of his 23 points during that stretch.
