Box Score BOSTON, Mass. – Just 34 seconds into the overtime period number 6/9 Castleton University pulled out a come-from-behind New England Hockey Conference win, as they defeated women's hockey by the final of 2-1 Saturday afternoon at Beacons Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Aimee Briand netted home the game-winning goal, when Rachel Bombardier passed the puck across the crease where she found her teammate wide open for the game-winner.
Taylor Steadman scored the goal that forced the overtime period at the 12:43 mark of the third period. UMass Boston got on the board late in the second period, with senior Jenny Currie (Chelmsford, Mass.) scoring off of a pass from Kristen Embrey (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) and Alexandra Karlis (Denver, Colo.).
UMass Boston could have taken control of Saturday's contest in the opening minutes of the contest, but failed to convert a two wide open opportunities, that would have put the momentum in their corner.
The Beacons were also unable to convert on a five minute major penalty, with Castleton's Jess Cameron making a combined 16 saves in the opening period. Cameron ended the contest with a combined 37 saves in the victory.
For the Beacons Rachel Myette (Pembroke, Mass.) totaled 23 saves in the conference loss, and held one of the top teams in the NEHC scoreless for 48 minutes.
