Box Score DANBURY, Conn. – With five players finishing in double-figures the host Colonials of Western Connecticut State University handed men's basketball their fifth straight loss, 83-61 at Feldman Arena Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Leading the offensive charge for Western was freshman Jauch Green with 20 points, followed by seniors Jeremiah Washington and Luis Bridtter with 14 points, and Junior Tre'Von Perry and senior Phil Starks who each scored 10.
For UMass Boston, Dan Powers (Westwood, Mass.) led the way with 21 points, followed by senior Michael Campbell (Boston, Mass.) with 11 points and senior Quadry Allen (White Castle, La.) with 10 points. Powers also pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.
Western took an early 4-0 lead on jumpers by Bridtter and Perry, but a pair of free throws by Powers at the 13:37 mark of the first half tied the score at 8-8.
Western held a one-point lead with nine minutes to play in the half, but the Colonials then scored the game's next six points to take a 24-17 lead.
Leading by eight points with just under four minutes to play in the half, Western went on a 10-2 run to close out the half and take a 40-25 lead into the locker room at intermission.
UMass Boston scored the first five points of the second half to cut the margin to 10, but that was as close as the Beacons would get.
A Starks layup with 12 minutes remaining pushed the Western advantage to 20 points, 57-37, and two minutes later, a pair of Starks free throws gave Western a 66-37 lead and a 29-point lead.
The Western lead never fell below 20 points down the stretch, and the Colonials cruised to an 83-61 victory over the Beacons.
