Box Score BOSTON, Mass. – With four points by Iser Barnes (Boston, Mass.) and a game-clinching free throw by Maurice Magras (Medford, Mass.) men's basketball got back in the win column as they defeated Emerson College by the final of 62-60 Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 57-54 with 2:22 left in the second half, Magras nailed a huge 3-pointer to tie the game at 57-57. After exchanging possessions, Barnes drained a jump shot with 55 ticks left on the clock, to put the Beacons ahead 59-57. After the Lions went 1-for-2 at the charity stripe, Barnes made it 61-58 Beacons as he sunk back-to-back free throws. Magras then hit the clinching free throw with nine seconds left to make it 62-58. On their final chance of the evening, the Lions hit the last field goal as time expired.
For Magras, he led the Beacons with another strong performance as he dropped in 18 points. From the field he went 5-for-10, 3-for-7 from behind the arc. He was also 5-for-7 at the line. Barnes came off the bench and finished with 13 points, including four of the Beacons final five points.
Sam Freeman (Boston, Mass.) and Dan Powers (Westwood, Mass.) each pulled down seven rebounds, while Powers also finished with seven points in the non-conference victory.
From the field the Beacons shot 35.5% (22-62), while from distance they finished off the Lions shooting 36.4% (8-22). Emerson College outrebounded the Beacons 42-31, but struggled to possess the ball as they turned it over a combined 16 times, while the Beacons had just seven turnovers.
