Raven Kelsey is returning to Beaconville. The four-year UMass Boston women's basketball standout joins second year Head Coach Heather Jacobs' staff as an Assistant Coach for the 2022-2023 season. 

During her playing career, Kelsey went from role player off the bench to full-time starter earning Little East Conference All-Conference Second Team honors during her junior year to go along with averaging a career-high 10.9 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game in 26 games played. 

As a senior and captain, the four-year player became the first Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Year in program history while also earning Little East Conference Defensive Team honors as the Beacons won the Little East Conference Championship for the first time in program history. With 180 steals in her career, Raven Kelsey ranked sixth in program history in that category. 

Kelsey graduated from UMass Boston in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology along with minors in Psychology and Theater Art.

Before returning to the Beacons, Kelsey spent two years (2018-2020) at an AmeriCorps Member and Team Leader at City Year for Mt. Pleasant High School in San Jose, California for two years. There she managed and trained a team of six Americorp members to serve over 1,300 high school students by delivering academic and social-emotional tutoring, classroom support, and embracing whole school initiatives. 

Kelsey has spent time interning for Senator Elizabeth Warren, Boston City Councilor Ayanna Pressley, and was an Assistant at the Office of Community Partnerships at UMass Boston back in 2018. She currently owns her own clothing line known as Bird View Pursuits.

Kelsey currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts.
