Kirsten Morrison

  • Title
    Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

Kirsten Morrison '15 enters her first season as a women's basketball coach at her alma mater.  The only athlete in UMass Boston history to be named an All-Little East Conference selection in three different sports (volleyball, women’s basketball, softball), Morrison remains one of the most dominant female athletes in university history.

A force on the volleyball and basketball court, the North Reading native, earned LEC Rookie of the Year honors in both sports and was a combined eight-time All-LEC honoree.  In her final season at UMB she would step onto the softball field, and earned LEC Second Team honors.

In her four seasons with the women's basketball program, Morrison was named a three-time All-Conference honoree and played in 99 career games. She ended her career fourth in program history with 1,273 career points and fifth with 810 rebounds.

She also has spent the past two season as an assistant coach with the volleyball program. In each of her first two season, she has helped the volleyball team win the Little East Conference Tournament and earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Morrison graduated from UMass Boston in 2015 with a bachelor’s in Exercise Health Science, and will be pursuing her master’s degree this fall.
