BRISTOL, R.I. (April 3, 2026) – UMass Boston Baseball (11-8, 3-1 Little East Conference) delivered a dominant all-around performance on the road, surging past Roger Williams 12-2 for its second straight double-digit win. The Beacons' offense erupted for 15 hits and seven stolen bases, while the pitching staff combined for 13 strikeouts and allowed zero earned runs to extend the win streak to two games.
How it Happened:
The Beacons wasted no time seizing control, putting up four runs in the second inning. Max Garner (Arlington, Mass.) scored the game's opening run on a throwing error, then came around again as Dylan Agvent (Orange, Conn.) drove in a run on a fielder's choice. Breon Parker Jr. (Springfield, Mass.) added a sacrifice bunt RBI, and Nick Farnacci (Farmingdale, N.Y.) capped the rally with a run-scoring single to center.
After adding another four-spot in the fifth, highlighted by a two-run single from Ryan Slack (Derby, Conn.) and an RBI hit from Brandon Gaer (Rocky Hill, Conn.), UMass Boston pulled away with a comfortable 8-0 lead. Garner delivered an RBI double in the sixth, and Elliot Miles (Portsmouth, N.H.) drove in a run with a single in the seventh to make it 10-0.
Though Roger Williams pushed across two unearned runs in the seventh, the Beacons answered with two more in the ninth. Wes Sturrup (Rochester, N.Y.) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring in a run, and Cole Bissaillon (Great Barrington, Mass.) grounded into a fielder's choice to close the scoring at 12-2.
Ethan Nowak (Hampton Falls, N.H.) set the tone early, striking out eight over 6.1 innings while allowing only two hits and zero earned runs. Austin Stone (Boylston, Mass.) and Ben Cherry (Manchester, Conn.) combined for 2.2 scoreless innings of relief, with Cherry striking out four.
