MANSFIELD, Conn. (April 26, 2026) – UMass Boston Baseball slipped to 17-18 overall and 5-8 in Little East Conference play after dropping both games of a pivotal doubleheader at Eastern Connecticut State.
How it Happened:
Game 1 saw strong starting pitching from Cameron Fisher (Canton, Conn.), who tossed seven innings of one-run ball and left with a 2-1 lead. The Beacons got on the board in the fourth when Elliot Miles (Portsmouth, N.H.) drove in Dylan Agvent (Orange, Conn.), who had reached base for the second time. Ryan Slack (Derby, Conn.) provided a key RBI hit in the fifth to extend the lead. Eastern Connecticut State tied the game in the eighth, then capitalized on a hit, two walks and a crucial error in the bottom of the ninth to walk it off, 3-2.
In Game 2, the Beacons fell behind early as Eastern Connecticut State plated five runs across the second and third innings, highlighted by a three-run single. UMass Boston trimmed the deficit in the fifth, with Nick Farnacci (Farmingdale, N.Y.) coming around to score on a sacrifice fly from Brandon Gaer (Rocky Hill, Conn.).
