BOSTON, Mass. (April 11, 2026) – The UMass Boston baseball team (15-11, 5-2 Little East) swept a weekend Little East Conference doubleheader over Vermont State University Castleton (7-20, 2-5 Little East) on Saturday at Monan Park. The Beacons took Game one 11–1 in an eight-inning mercy-rule game, before taking the nightcap 13–12 in a thrilling come-from-behind matchup.
Game 1: UMB 11 – VTSU-C 1 (F/8)
Cameron Fisher (Canton, Conn.) earned the win for UMass Boston, pitching 7.1 innings, while striking out four out of the 26 batters he faced. He conceded just one earned run, and moves to 4–0 on the season.
Ben Sherry (Fall River, Mass.) opened the scoring for the Beacons in the first inning, reaching on a fielder's choice to drive Nick Farnacci (Farmingdale, N.Y.) home. Later in the inning, Elliot Miles (Portsmouth, N.H.) stole home, extending UMass Boston's advantage to 2–0.
Castleton scored its lone run of the contest in the fourth, when Justin Strozyk scored off Mike Raby Jr.'s sacrifice fly to left field, cutting the Spartans' deficit to 2–1.
After three scoreless innings, the Beacons erupted for nine runs in the eighth to pull away with the mercy-rule win. Brandon Gaer (Rocky Hill, Conn.) opened UMass Boston's scoring spree with a sacrifice fly RBI, and Sherry reached first on a two-run RBI error from the right fielder. Caden Lindskog (Taunton, Mass.) delivered an RBI triple to right field, and scored on Jayden Lafleur's (Dighton, Mass.) RBI single.
With the bases loaded, Breon Parker Jr. (Springfield, Mass.) was hit by a pitch, scoring Lafleur. Farnacci drew a walk to drive in Paden Larkins (Shelton, Conn.), and Miles was hit by a pitch, bringing home Dylan Agvent (Orange, Conn.). Gaer sealed the 11–1 win after getting hit by a pitch to drive Parker home.

Game Two: UMB 13 - 12 VTSU-C
Jonny Pagano (Attleboro, Mass.) started on the mound in game two. Alex Meesig (Nashua, N.H.), earned the win while giving up one hit and allowing zero runs. He moves to 2–1 on the season.
UMass Boston jumped out to an early 3–1 lead in the first inning, before the Spartans rallied for three runs in the second to take a 4–3 lead. Parker tied the game with an RBI double and scored on Miles' single to give the Beacons a 5–4 cushion, before Castleton responded in the third inning with three runs to regain the lead, 7–5.
Agvent and Farnacci each drove in runs to tie the game at 7–7 in the fourth, before the Spartans pulled ahead with two runs in the sixth and three in the seventh, to take a 12–7 lead.
UMass Boston refused to give up, scoring three in the seventh and eighth innings to complete the late comeback. The comeback was highlighted by Cole Bissaillon's (Great Barrington, Mass.) two-run double, Nicolas Piscioniere (Shelton, Conn.) scored on Lafleur's groundout, and Agvent's single gave the Beacons a 13–12 lead they would not relinquish, as the defense held firm in the ninth to secure the win.
