Boston, MA (March 21, 2026) — The UMass Boston baseball team (7–6, 2–0 Little East Conference) swept its first Little East Conference doubleheader against the Western Connecticut State Wolves (4–7, 0–2 Little East Conference) on Saturday from Monan Park, following a quick flight home following the Spring Break trip to Florida.
Game 1 Highlights
Cameron Fisher (Canton, Conn.) (2–0) started on the mound in game one, delivering a quality start. He dealt for seven innings while allowing only two runs and striking out six batters faced.
After a slow start offensively, the Beacons recorded their first hit in the bottom of the 3rd inning, following Elliot Miles' (Portsmouth, NH) first of five hits on the day to drive in the second run of the inning, taking a 2–0 lead.
Miles struck again in the bottom of the fifth inning, going yard for his second home run of the season, extending the lead to 3–0.
The Wolves closed the gap to within one run in the top of the 6th inning, scoring two runs on as many hits.
The Beacons responded by pulling away, adding eight unanswered runs in the final three innings. UMass Boston scored six runs on five hits to extend the lead to 11–2 in the eighth inning.

Miles led all Beacons with four hits and four RBIs, including a solo home run (second of the season) and a pair of doubles.
Fisher struck out six batters over seven innings of work.
Nick Farnacci (Farmingdale, NY), Brandon Gaer (Rocky Hill, Conn.), and Max Garner (Arlington, Mass.) each recorded multiple hits.
Game 2 Highlights
Owen Ellsworth (Northborough, Mass.) (2–1) earned the win on the mound in game two. He dominated out of the bullpen. He pitched 4.1 innings, allowing only one hit while striking out 7.
Following a slow start for the Beacons in game two, they tied the game in the bottom of the third inning on a two-run RBI single from Gaer.
After the Wolves scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning, they were immediately answered by freshman Ben Sherry (Fall River, Mass.), who launched his first career home run over the Monan Park Monster in left field to tie the game at five runs apiece.
UMass Boston added runs in the seventh and eighth innings to push the lead to 8–5, backed by phenomenal pitching from Ellsworth to complete the sweep. Farnacci pulled off an impressive squeeze play in the eighth, placing a bunt down the first base line with Breon Parker Jr. (Springfield, Mass.) on third, successfully beating the play and scoring Parker to take the first of two final runs in the game.

Ellsworth allowed just one hit and struck out seven batters in 4.1 innings of work.
Farnacci, Sherry, and Garner each recorded multiple-hit performances.
Farnacci and Gaer each drove in three runs.

The Beacons return to play Tuesday, March 24 on the road in Medford, Mass., as they tee off against the Tufts University Jumbos in nonconference action beginning at 3:00 PM.
