BIDDEFORD, ME (Feb. 27, 2026) – UMass Boston men's lacrosse launched the 2026 campaign with a strong non-conference showing, earning a 15-11 win over the University of New England in a rescheduled matchup played on the road.
How It Happened
Jack Schartner led the way for UMass Boston with a four-goal, five-point performance, setting the tone early as the Beacons built momentum in the first half. The offense fired on all cylinders, with Nolen Beauregard and Matt Hutchingsboth delivering hat tricks to keep the pressure on the Nor'easters.
After a back-and-forth opening stretch, UMass Boston used a flurry of goals in the second quarter to establish a multi-goal cushion. Cole Allan chipped in with two goals and two assists, while Matt Laverty, Patrick Dwinnells, and Jaden Cronin each found the net to highlight the team's depth.
