Babson Park, Mass. (Feb. 13, 2026) — The UMass Boston men's ice hockey team dropped a 2-1 decision on the road against Babson College in a tightly contested Little East Conference game Friday night. The loss moves the Beacons to 13-8-1 overall.
The first period featured all three goals in back-and-forth action. UMass Boston struck first when sophomore forward Michael Lynch (Stoneham, Mass.) opened the scoring, but Babson responded to tie the game on a goal from Egan Schmitt. Before the first intermission, Cam Joslin gave Babson a 2-1 lead, capitalizing on a late-even-strength opportunity.
Despite outshooting the Beavers in the 2nd and 3rd period, UMass Boston was unable to get the equalizer. Alex Koenig made 29 saves in net with 14 of those saves coming in the first period.
