BOSTON, Mass. (Oct. 21, 2026) – UMass Boston women's volleyball (14-7, 5-0 LEC) claimed a 3-1 victory over UMass Dartmouth (12-7, 5-1 LEC) on Wednesday evening, taking sets 25-17, 22-25, 25-22 and 25-18 to extend the Beacons' winning streak to seven straight matches.
Head coach Stacy Cheney's squad celebrated the Mental Health/Morgan's Message Dedication Match with a dominant defensive performance, holding UMass Dartmouth to a .067 hitting percentage and recording a season-high 11.0 total blocks.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
» Set 1 (25-17):
UMass Boston set the tone immediately, pulling away from UMass Dartmouth with a commanding eight-point margin. The Beacons' block and serve pressure disrupted the visitors' rhythm throughout, and UMB closed out the set without allowing the Corsairs to mount a serious challenge.
» Set 2 (22-25):
UMass Dartmouth responded with their best set of the night, staying disciplined on offense and converting enough side-outs to edge the Beacons 25-22.
» Set 3 (25-22):
The Beacons answered with resolve, trading points in a tightly contested third set before pulling ahead late. UMass Boston's net presence — anchored by Addie Blomgren (Riverside, Ill.) and Adele Accelus (Longmeadow, Mass.) — proved decisive as the Beacons reclaimed the match lead 2-1 with a 25-22 win.
» Set 4 (25-18):
UMass Boston closed the match decisively, building a comfortable lead and never relinquishing it. A seven-point margin of victory reflected the Beacons' collective energy and composure as they sealed the 3-1 win on their home floor.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
» Nevaeh Yancey (Dorchester, Mass.) co-led the Beacons with 11 kills on 27 attempts, hitting .296 — the highest mark among qualified attackers on the night — to serve as UMass Boston's most efficient offensive weapon.

» Audrey Cofield (Ypsilanti, Mich.) orchestrated the offense with a double-double of her own, distributing 29 assists — 67% of the team's 43 total — while adding 12 digs to anchor the Beacons' midcourt.
» Ashlee Wudi (Brookfield, Ill.) anchored the back row with a match-high 22 digs and added four service aces, pacing a UMass Boston defense that posted 90 digs as a team and held UMass Dartmouth to a .067 hitting percentage.
» Blomgren led all players with 3.5 total blocks (one solo, five assists) and added six kills and one ace, powering a season-high 11.0-block effort for the Beacons.
» Accelus was a force alongside Blomgren at the net, contributing six kills on a .214 hitting percentage and 3.0 total blocks (one solo, four assists) for the second-highest block total on the team.
» Josie Becker (Westchester, Ill.) was efficient in her attacking opportunities, posting four kills on 14 attempts for a .286 hitting percentage — second-best on the team — and adding 2.5 total blocks.
» Paige Coulson (Marriottsville, Md.) and Kaitlyn Leberstien (Wilmington, Del.) each recorded 15 digs, giving UMass Boston four players in double figures in digs on the night; Coulson added two service aces and Leberstien chipped in five assists and two aces.
