CASTLETON, Vt. (Oct. 24, 2026) – The UMass Boston Beacons volleyball team (16-7, 6-0 LEC) notched a pair of 3-0 victories over Vermont State Castleton (8-11, 0-6 LEC) and Fisher College (9-8) on Saturday at Glenbrook Gymnasium in Castleton.

UMass Boston has now won nine straight matches dating back to Sept. 30.

UMass Boston 3, VTSU Castleton 0 (25-8, 25-19, 26-24)
Set One (25-8, UMB)
The Beacons held a 5-4 edge in the early going before Addie Blomgren (Riverside, Ill.) delivered a kill to spark a stretch where they won 13 of the next 14 points to extend the lead to 18-5. Head coach Stacy Cheney's team then captured five of the final six points and a Spartans' service error sealed the 25-8 victory.

Set Two (25-19, UMB)
UMass Boston held an 11-4 lead after a Blomgren kill before VTSU Castleton battled back to even the match at 14 apiece. The Beacons were able to take advantage of a pair of attack error and two set errors to regain the lead and clinched the 25-19 win with a Mya Perron (Beverly, Mass.) kill.

Set Three (26-24, UMB)
The two teams traded points for much of the set and the Spartans won three consecutive points to tie things at 24 before Paige Coulson (Marriottsville, Md.) came through with a kill followed by an attack error that completed the sweep.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
Blomgren and Coulson led the way offensively with 11 kills apiece, while Perron added seven.

Audrey Cofield (Ypsilanti, Mich.) posted her 11th double-double of the season with 16 assists and 10 digs in the victory.

Coulson added a team-high 12 digs for her sixth double-double of the year.

Kaitlyn Leberstien (Wilmington, Del.) registered 10 assists to go along with six digs and fellow first-year Ashlee Wudi (Brookfield, Ill.) notched 11 digs of her own. Lily Russell (Bourne, Mass.) notched four service aces in the victory.

UMass Boston 3, Fisher 0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-20)
Set One (25-18, UMB)
Things were deadlocked at 17 in the first set when a Perron kill marked the start of seven straight points and a 24-17 lead. Blomgren (two kills) and Perron (three) combined for five of the seven points during the run as the Beacons went on to clinch a 25-18 victory.

Set Two (25-17, UMB)
Fisher won seven of the first eight points, but UMass Boston immediately fought back and used an eight-point run to take a 9-7 lead. Both sides continued to battle and the set was tied at 14 when Perron tallied three kills over the next six points for a 20-14 advantage. Fisher was unable to get any closer than five and Kaitlyn Truong (Hingham, Mass.) finished things off for the Beacons with a kill of her own.

Set Three (25-20, UMB)
A Truong kill early in the third capped off a four-point run in the early going that made it 9-5 and the Falcons could not get any closer than two the rest of the way as UMass Boston notched their second sweep of the day with a 25-20 win.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
Perron headlined the attack with 16 kills and an impressive .593 hitting percentage to go along with seven from Blomgren. The duo of Truong and Adele Accelus (Longmeadow, Mass.) recorded five kills apiece.
