Beacons Rebound in Game 2 Versus Panthers

Plymouth, N.H. (January 24, 2026) — The UMass Boston women's ice hockey team bounced back with a 4–2 victory over Plymouth State on Saturday, splitting the weekend series in Little East Conference play.

Plymouth State opened the scoring with the lone goal of the first period, capitalizing on its first power-play opportunity of the game. The Beacons answered in the second period on their fourth power play of the afternoon, as Emily Hansen tied the game with an unassisted goal.

UMass Boston took its first lead of the contest late in the second period when Adrianna Kelsch found the back of the net with under a minute remaining. Aisling McFadden and Darby Rounseville picked up the assists on the go-ahead tally.

The Panthers reclaimed the lead 14:19 into the third period, but the Beacons responded once again. With under two minutes remaining, Shea Nolan netted the eventual game-winner off an assist from Hansen. Plymouth State pulled its goaltender in the closing moments, and McFadden sealed the win with an empty-net goal, her fifth of the season, tying her for the team lead with Maggie Lynch

UMass Boston held a 26–23 edge in shots on goal, while Leah Bosch made 21 saves to earn the win in net. Cassidy Morrison led the Beacons defensively with three blocked shots.
