BOSTON, Mass. (January 14, 2026) – The UMass Boston women's basketball team (10-5, 4-2 LEC) controlled the game from the opening tip and never looked back, cruising to an 83–52 victory over Plymouth State (8-6, 1-5 LEC) on Wednesday night at the Clark Athletic Center.
The Beacons opened on a 10–0 run and led 23–10 at the end of the first quarter, forcing Plymouth State into a series of early turnovers that fueled UMass Boston's transition game. Jordis Tautalatasi (Springfield, Mass.) and Sabanna Berrios (Providence, RI) set the tone in the paint, while Tajeiha Madison (Brockton, Mass.) capped the opening frame with a corner three at the buzzer to push the lead to 13.
UMass Boston continued to build separation in the second quarter, stretching the margin to as many as 22 points before heading into halftime with a 46–24 advantage. Madison Haggett (Londonderry, N.H.) and Kaydie Sturm (Boston, Mass.) provided a spark off the bench, each knocking down threes in transition as the Beacons converted defense into offense.
Following the halftime break, the third quarter continued to belong to UMass Boston. The Beacons outscored the Panthers 19–10 in the period, highlighted by a pair of fastbreak threes from Haggett and a late layup by Tautalatasi to send UMass Boston into the fourth with a commanding 65–34 lead.
Plymouth State found some rhythm offensively in the final quarter, but UMass Boston answered each push. Sturm drilled two additional triples, Kayla Jackson (Saugus, Mass.) finished through contact inside, and the Beacons maintained a comfortable margin to close out the 31-point win.
Tautalatasi led all scorers with 20 points, while Berrios added 12 points and Kaydie Sturm chipped in nine. Haggett and Hialeah Turner-Foster (Mashpee, Mass.) each finished with seven, and Madison contributed seven points and multiple assists in a well-rounded team effort.
