Providence, RI (Sep. 20, 2025) — The UMass Boston women's soccer team dropped a hard-fought 1–0 decision on the road to Rhode Island College in their Little East Conference (LEC) opener.
Despite outshooting the Anchorwomen 11–10 overall and 7–4 in shots on goal, the Beacons couldn't break through. RIC's Hannah Rezendes netted the game-winner in the 86th minute, sealing the result for the home side.
UMass Boston forward Sofia Schallmo led all players with 7 shots — 5 of them on target — but Oceanna Orlandi stood strong in goal for Rhode Island College, making 7 saves to earn the shutout.
