Beacons Drop Two at Trinity Tri-Match

Hartford, CT (Sept. 13, 2025) — The UMass Boston volleyball team continued their challenging start to the 2025 season, facing off against strong opponents in Springfield College and host Trinity College at the Trinity Tri-Match on Saturday.

The Beacons opened the day against a tough Springfield squad, falling in three competitive sets. Despite the loss, the teams were evenly matched in most statistical categories. Springfield held a narrow edge in kills (30-25) and service aces (4-3). Sophomore outside hitter Paige Coulson paced both teams with 8 kills and 16 digs, adding 2 of the Beacons' 3 service aces in a strong all-around performance.

In their second match of the day, UMass Boston took on Trinity College. After a slow start, the Beacons showed their best form in the third set but ultimately fell in straight sets. Addie Blomgren led the offense with 6 kills, while Coulson added 4. Josie Becker and Adele Accelus each contributed 2 blocks, and Amelia Devlin dished out a team-high 9 assists.
