Bridgewater, MA (May 1, 2025) – The UMass Boston men's tennis team saw their 2025 season come to a close in the Little East Conference Semifinals, falling 5-0 to the second-seeded Bridgewater State Bears.
The Beacons battled in doubles, with the third pairing of James Tiger Li (Quincy, Mass.) and Joseph Malone (Dennis, Mass.) putting up a strong fight before ultimately dropping their match 8-4. After losing all three doubles matches, the Bears needed just two singles victories to clinch the win, resulting in four contests going unfinished.
At the time of completion, Dominik Dwyer (Dedham, Mass.) was leading 3-1 in the second set of his No. 1 singles match against Adam Beatrice. Meanwhile, Victor Xu (Bolton, Mass.) had dropped a competitive first set 6-4 at No. 2 singles but led 1-0 in the second when play concluded.
Despite the loss, the Beacons wrapped up a successful season, recording their highest win total since the 2021-22 campaign and showing strong signs of growth across the lineup.
