MILTON, Mass. (Oct. 6, 2026) – The UMass Boston Beacons men's tennis team rolled to a 7-0 victory over the Curry College Colonels on Tuesday at the Milton Academy Tennis Courts.
UMass Boston is now 1-1 on the season, while Curry drops to 0-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The duo of
Dominik Dwyer (Dedham, Mass.) and
Thomas Ameral (Ellington, Conn.) notched a 6-0 win at first doubles and
Robert Kubinec (East Boston, Mass.)/
Marcelo Maass (El Paso, Texas) recorded a 6-2 victory in second doubles to clinch the early lead for the Beacons.
Dwyer defeated Curry's Carson Bakunas in a thrilling 3-6, 6-2, 10-8 victory in No. 1 singles and Ameral captured a 6-0, 6-1 decision over Jack McGuirl at No. 2 singles.
In No. 3 singles, Kubinec notched a 6-1, 6-1 win and Maass added a 6-3, 6-2 victory at fourth singles.
Rounding things out for the Beacons were
James Tiger Li (Quincy, Mass.) with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Noah Grezlik in fifth singles and
Archer Ou (Malden, Mass.) who notched a 6-1, 6-2 win against Maitreya Abend at sixth singles.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
UMass Boston has now swept Curry in three straight seasons and has won nine straight meetings overall dating back to Mar. 13, 2012.

The Beacons will wrap up the fall season on Thursday, Oct. 8 at Salve Regina with first serve set for 3:30 p.m.
