Boston, MA (April 28, 2025) — The UMass Boston men's tennis team will open the Little East Conference (LEC) Tournament at home, hosting the Salem State Vikings in a first-round matchup on Tuesday, April 29 at 12 p.m. The match will take place at the BC High Tennis Courts in Boston, Massachusetts.
The Beacons wrapped up the regular season with a 6–7 overall record and a 4–2 mark in conference play, securing the No. 3 seed in the LEC standings.
Their opponent, sixth-seeded Salem State, finished the season 2–6 overall and 1–5 in the conference. The Vikings' lone conference win came against Vermont State University Castleton on April 12.
When the two teams met earlier this season, UMass Boston claimed a 6–3 victory. Joseph Malone (Dennis, Mass.) and James Tiger Li (Quincy, Mass.) earned a win at third doubles, while Victor Xu (Bolton, Mass.), Maxwell Dill (Glen Ellyn, Ill.), Tiger Li, Malone, and Shrenith Saravana Rakshana (Bengaluru, India) each contributed key singles victories to seal the match.
