Willimantic, Conn. (April 13, 2025) — The UMass Boston women's lacrosse team dropped a 16-5 decision to Eastern Connecticut State on Saturday afternoon in Little East Conference action.
How It Happened
The Warriors shut out the Beacons in the first half and built a commanding lead, but UMass Boston responded with a stronger second half, outscoring Eastern Connecticut 5-4 over the final two quarters.
Angelina Mazzone (Beverly, Mass.) opened the third quarter with her 13th goal of the season to put the Beacons on the board. Eastern Connecticut answered with four straight goals, extending their lead, but UMass Boston finished the game on a high note—scoring the final four goals and outscoring the Warriors 4-2 in the fourth.
Hannah Rich (Rockland, Mass.) netted back-to-back goals, followed by Mazzone's second of the contest. Teresa Sheedy (Quincy, Mass.) closed out the game with her 21st goal of the season.
