Boston, MA (March 14, 2025) — The UMass Boston men's tennis team kicked off their 2025 Spring season with a strong 5-2 win over Suffolk University. 

Doubles Action 

The Beacons dominated doubles play, sweeping all three matches. Dominik Dwyer (Dedham, Mass.) and Victor Xu (Bolton, Mass.) led the way in No. 1 Doubles, defeating Abhi Patel and Henry Blanchard 6-1. Maxwell Dill (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) and Shrenith Saravana Rakshana (Bangalore, India) were even more dominant in No. 2 Doubles, securing a 6-0 victory. In No. 3 Doubles, Joseph Malone (Dennis, Mass.) and James Tiger Li (Quincy, Mass.) edged out the Rams 7-6 (7-5) to complete the sweep. 

Singles Action 

Dwyer, Xu, and Li carried their doubles success into singles play. Dwyer triumphed in No. 1 singles, defeating Patel 6-2, 6-0. Xu followed suit in No. 2, dispatching Ishmam Amin 6-1, 6-1. Li continued his strong play in the No. 4 spot, winning 6-4, 6-2. Mario Pangione (Carver, Mass.) rounded out the Beacons' singles victories, taking his match 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 6 spot.

The Beacons will return to action on March 29th at 12 p.m. for an LEC match against Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Connecticut.
