Boston, MA (Feb. 8, 2025) --- Despite outshooting the Beavers of Babson College, the Beacons weren't able to come away on the winning side of a 4-2 result Friday night.
How it Happened
Babson College was the first to get on the board after Johnny McElaney snuck the puck past Tyler Bost 56 seconds into the game. That goal would remain the only one scored in the first despite the Beacons putting 10 shots on frame with their best chances coming near the close of the period.
Jacob Roberson would get the scoring started in the second, registering his second goal of the season off assists by Jakob Teply and Jack Mortson. Some unlucky bounces and deflections would see the Beavers head into the third with a 3-1 advantage.
The Beacons came out firing in the third registering 14 shots on net. Senior forward Kolye Bankauskas scored his 8th goal of the season (21st of his career) to pull the Beacons within one, but the late period rally wasn't enough as Egan Schmitt sealed the game with an empty netter with under a minute remaining.
