Boston, MA (Feb. 14, 2025) --- The UMass Boston Beacons, behind a 32 save performance by Leah Bosch, defeated the Herons of William Smith by a score of 2-1 Friday night.
How it Happened
Emily Hansen and Gianna Skrelja each scored their fifth goal of the season on the powerplay to help give the Beacons the 2-0 win. Hansen would get the first of the game just under nine minutes into the match when she directed a shot by Cassidy Morrison behind the Herons' netminder, Erin Murray. Skrelja converted early in the second period to double the lead, rocketing home a shot after a pass by Mia Boyd. The Herons would get their best chances in the third frame, drawing four of their five penalties in the third, but the Beacons defense, backed by Leah Bosch in net, held strong to keep the Herons off the board preserving the victory.
