Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey | | David Cataloni

Women’s Ice Hockey Opens LEC Play with 1–0 Road Win Over Huskies

GORHAM, Maine (November 8, 2025) – First-year forward Aisling McFadden (Erie, Pa.) delivered the game's lone goal as UMass Boston women's ice hockey (2-0-0, 1-0-0 LEC) earned its first-ever Little East Conference victory, defeating the University of Southern Maine (1-3-0, 1-1-0 LEC) 1–0 on the road Saturday afternoon.

The Beacons outshot the Huskies 15–12 in the opening period before being outshot 8–12 in the second, but neither team could break through across the first 40 minutes. McFadden and Adriana Crepaldi (Brick, N.J.) came out firing in the third. After Jenna Fitzsimons (Ashland, Mass.) won the opening faceoff, the pair generated multiple chances that led to McFadden burying her third shot of the shift — the game-winning goal.

Behind a disciplined defensive effort that featured seven blocked shots and no penalties, the Beacons shut down Southern Maine's offense. Goaltender Leah Bosch (Minnetonka, Minn.) recorded her first shutout of the season in her debut start, while Crepaldi led the team with two blocked shots and tied for the team-high in shots on goal (3). Senior Emily Hansen (Lake Villa, Ill.) went 9-for-13 in the faceoff circle.

UMass Boston returns to the Edward T. Barry Ice Rink on Friday, November 14, to face Plymouth State in the first-ever Little East Conference women's hockey matchup hosted at the venue.
