Boston, MA (Nov. 14, 2025) — The UMass Boston Beacons women's ice hockey team remained undefeated in the 2025–26 campaign with a dramatic 3–2 overtime victory over the Plymouth State Panthers on Friday night, sealed by an overtime winner from Emily Hansen.
Erin Duffy opened the scoring just over two minutes into the game when her shot deflected off a Panther defender and found the back of the net, giving the Beacons an early 1–0 lead.
UMass Boston carried that momentum into the next shift. Just a minute later, Aisling McFadden threaded a pass to Maggie Lynch, who buried the chance to put the Beacons up 2–0 early in the first period.
In the second frame, goalie Leah Bosch stood tall, stopping 17 shots while allowing just one goal as the Beacons held a 2–1 advantage heading into the third. The score held until the final minutes of regulation, when Plymouth State pulled their goalie and tied the game at 2–2 with just over a minute remaining, forcing overtime.
In three-on-three overtime, Hansen delivered the heroics, finishing off a setup from Vika Cormick to secure the 3–2 win in LEC play.
