Boston, MA (Oct. 25, 2025) — The UMass Boston women's soccer team celebrated its senior class in style with a 3–0 shutout victory over Plymouth State University on Saturday afternoon at James Cotter Field.
Alexis Williamson opened the scoring in the 31st minute with her first goal of the season, assisted by Sofia Schallmo and Stella Pampucha. The Beacons carried a 1–0 lead into halftime after controlling much of the first half.
UMass Boston continued to apply heavy pressure in the second half, outshooting the Panthers 27–12 (12–4 on goal). In the 53rd minute, the Beacons doubled their advantage after forcing an own goal from the Plymouth State defense. Senior Sofia Roberts capped off the scoring with a well-placed penalty kick to the keeper's right in the 79th minute — her fourth goal of the season.
Freshman goalkeeper Janiya Matier made four saves to record the clean sheet, securing the Beacons' victory on Senior Day.

The Beacons will close out the regular season on Wednesday, October 29, when they travel to North Dartmouth, Massachusetts to face UMass Dartmouth at 1 p.m.
In the Little East Conference standings, UMass Boston currently sits in sixth place with 10 points (3-3-1), while VTSU Castleton holds ninth with 9 points (3-4) and UMass Dartmouth trails in eighth with 7 points (2-4-1).
