Boston, MA (Oct. 22, 2025) — The Beacons cruised to a pivotal 4-1 Little East Conference (LEC) win over the University of Southern Maine on Wednesday night, thanks in large part to Sofia Schallmo's hat trick — her second of the season and fourth of her career.
Schallmo opened the scoring early, beating the Huskies' goalkeeper with a strike from distance. Just over 30 minutes later, she doubled the Beacons' lead with her second goal of the night, assisted by Amanda Regan. Before the end of the first half, Lorelai Leddy netted the first goal of her collegiate career, converting a cross from Schallmo to make it 3-0.
Schallmo completed her hat trick early in the second half off an assist from Allie Kondash, the first of Kondash's career. The Huskies managed to pull one goal back before the final whistle, but the Beacons held firm to secure the victory.
Defensively, the Beacons weathered the Huskies' pressure, conceding just one goal on 21 shots — 11 of them on target. Cloe Kapetanakos and McKenna Hallinan each came up with key defensive plays, while goalkeeper Janiya Matier tallied 10 saves to earn the win.
