Elmira, NY (Jan. 18, 2025) --- The UMass Boston Beacons women's hockey team fell to (RV) Elmira College by a score of 5-0 in NEHC play Saturday afternoon. 

McKenzie Schmidt got the first goal of the game and the eventual game winner early in the first period to put the home team ahead. Sophie Campeau was able to sneak two behind Leah Bosch to end the 1st period giving the Golden Eagles the 3-0 lead. Elmira College scored twice in the second frame, but the Beacons were able to shut them out in the 3rd.

• Leah Bosch made 44 saves in the loss. 

• Margeaux Butters added five blocks to bring her season total to 46. 

• Katie Wilbert saw success on the faceoff, winning 8 for the Beacons.

The Beacons return to the Edward T. Barry Ice Rink on January 24th when they take on fellow NEHC competitor, Albertus Magnus College at 6pm.
