Tennis Starts Conference Play with Victory

Plymouth, NH (Sep. 7, 2024) -- The UMass Boston Beacons started LEC play with a 7-2 win over Plymouth. 

How it Happened 

Zainab Patel and Lydia Chan didn't lose a single game, going 6-0.

Sandra Watson fought back from a 1-5 deficit before pulling the match to within one before having to retire due to injury.  

Elena Albano's performance was spectacular. After being put in a higher spot than usual, Albano won in straight sets at third singles. 

Shreya Saravana Rakshana and Albano also played excellently at second doubles rallying to take the win. 

Tatiana Malone won her first collegiate tennis match at 5th singles and 3rd doubles with Watson.

Next Up 

The Beacons travel down the road to Curry College on Tuesday, September 10th for a 3:30pm match.
