Boston, MA (Sep. 24, 2024) --- The UMass Boston Beacons defeated the Spartans of Vermont State University Castleton 7-2 Tuesday to move to 2-0 in conference play. 
 

Doubles 

The Beacons swept Castleton in doubles with Elena Albano and Ayonna Stuppard defeating Stella Forte and Madelyn Nonni 8-2 in Number 1 Doubles. In Number 2 Doubles Lydia Chan and Tatiana Malone took the 8-1 victory over Ginny Trevisan and Olivia Rutkowski. To finish up doubles, the pairing of Shreya Saravana Rakshana and Kaya-Lilliana Rutkowski defeated Alice Pomi and Andrea Rodriguez 8-6. 

Singles 

In Number 1 Singles, Lydia Chan swept Stella Forte 6-0, 6-0. Taking the win in Number 2 Singles was Ayonna Stuppard defeating Madelyn Nomi 6-0, 6-2. Finishing up on the winning side of the courts were Saravana Rakshana in Number 4 Singles and Rutkowski in the 5th spot.

The Beacons are back in action tomorrow when they travel to Simmons University, action scheduled to begin at 4pm.
