HOW IT HAPPENED
Babson was first to break through the rainy conditions on Tuesday, ripping off three straight goals to open up a 3-0 lead in the first.
Charlie Chapman had the response ready for the Beacons, converting on an unassisted score to cut the lead back to two, 3-1.
The Beacons managed to keep the low-scoring affair within their reach throughout the second.
Greg Wolff's 27th goal, courtesy of an assist form
Patrick Dwinnells, cut the score to 4-2 in the opening minute. Wolff went right back to the well in the ninth minute, this time turning a pass from
Luke Murphy into a goal to make the score 5-3. That score would hold into the halftime break.
A 4-0 run to open the second half extended the Babson lead to 9-3 with under seven minutes to play.
Liam Bowler struck back with an unassisted score, but that interruption gave way to a 5-0 run that put the game out of reach for the Beacons.Â
