BOSTON, MA (April 23, 2024) – The Beacons baseball team picks up a pivotal Little East Conference victory over the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs 12-7 after nine innings, as the quest for the one-seed and home field advantage in the LEC postseason stays alive, with just three remaining conference games in the season.
The Beacons' bullpen sent out sophomore right-hander
Ethan Hunt to being the game on the mound. Hunt dealt the business for seven innings as he punched out four batters, walked just one, and allowed just three runs of five hits. Graduate
Max Moss, and senior Tim Ciaciolo came in to close out the game, with Cianciolo credited with his third save of the season following his eighth-inning entrance. With the win Today, Hunt was credited with his fifth win in six appearances.
In three at-bats, senior

The Corsairs would strike first in the top of the first inning, however the top of the Beacons lineup consisting of Gouveia, senior
Bostyn Burris, and Blake would waste no time in adding their tallies to the Monan Park scoreboard. Following singles by Gouveia and Burris to leadoff the inning, Blake sent a no-doubt home run well beyond the left field fence to bring the scoring to 3-1 in favor of the Beacons.
First-year
Brandon Gaer's sac fly in the fifth inning to drive in Gouveia would be the first of six unanswered runs from UMass Boston. The seventh inning would see the Beacons begin to dismantle the Corsairs, as sophomore
Max Garner would drive in a run that produced an error at the plate, as Blake would come across to score comfortably on the overthrow. Jiminez followed this up with a two-run RBI double to score Garner and sophomore
Nick Farnacci. Jimenez would use his blistering speed to come across to score the Beacons' 10
th run of the evening off Miles' single up the middle.
The Beacs added two more for insurance in the eighth inning following miscues on the defensive end by the Corsairs, as UMass Boston stood tall in a crucial victory over the only remaining undefeated team in the conference, as the Corsairs fall to 10-1 in the conference by the hands of the Beacons.
