Beacons Pick up First Win of Season

Henniker, NH (Nov. 8, 2024) --- The UMass Boston Beacons began NEHC play with a 4-0 win over New England College Friday night.

How it Happened

Senior Allie Reifler got the scoring started early in the first after slotting home a pass by Liz Kramp past the Pilgrims netminder. Kramp added the second goal 5 minutes later, collecting the pass from Gianna Skrelja and maneuvering around New England College defender Mae Lafferty before making it 2-0 Beacons.

The Beacons outshot the Pilgrims 21-3 in the second but were kept off the board by Amy Donnelly in the second frame.

The third period provided a first for Cassidy Morrison of the Beacons as the freshman got on the scoresheet for the first time in her career to make it 3-0. Senior Gabby Shontz capped off the night scoring the last goal unassisted on the power play, seconds after Morrisons.

Leah Bosch made nine saves to secure the shutout and the win.
