MILTON, MA (November 16, 2024) UMass Boston focused their sights on Milton, Massachusetts Saturday night as they traveled for an away game hosted by the Colonels of Curry College. UMass Boston was defeated by Curry with a score of 69-60.

How It Happened
- Sibayla Jensen (Portland, OR) opened the scoreboard of the game with a layup and gave UMass the first points of the contest. The Beacs fought through several lead changes and finished the first quarter with 18 points and up 6 over the Colonels.
- The Beacons ran with this scoring burst in the second, as the quarter began with a 3-pointer by Jensen coming off the assist by Beeban Jikiemi-Pearson (BJP) (London, England). Curry continued their shooting struggles in the second period and only ammased 9 points during that time. At the halftime break UMass Boston 34 - Curry College 25.
- Curry had their work cut out for them in the third quarter to avoid falling behind. Luckily for them, the Colonels started found their range from beyond the arc. The quarter ended with a score of 45 by UMass Boston and 44 by Curry College.
- Curry got off to a hot start in the fourth quarter. Just five minutes in,r and the Beacon's had only scored a single basket, while Curry put 9 points on the scoreboard. Curry maintained this lead to the final second, resulting in a UMass Boston loss.
By The Numbers
- first-year forward Ashleigh Lagor (Millbury, MA) took over the scoring role off the bench as she put in 20 points in 34 minutes of action. This scoring outburst was matched by Curry College's own Sophie Hilbrunner (Waltham, MA) who made 6 out of 7 free throws included in her 20-point scoring night.
- The Beacon's had the largest lead of the night with 18 points and led the way with points in the paint, 32 for UMass to Curry's 26, however this was not enough to overcome the points off turnovers differential.
