Beacons Take Down Vikings

Salem, MA (Nov. 15, 2024) --- The UMass Boston Beacons remain undefeated in NEHC play following a 5-1 win over the Vikings of Salem State Friday night. 

How it Happened 

Emily Hansen got the scoring started converting on the Beacons second power play of the night. Katie Wilbert would add another goal, assisted by Adriana Capaldi, before the 1st period ended. The Beacons were the first to get on the board in the 2nd, when Jenna Fitzsimons scored her second goal of the season, assisted by Hansen. Salem scored their lone goal in the 3rd period off the stick of Megan Azzato, but the Beacons would have the last say notching two more goals before the final whistle blew. 

Inside the Box Score 

  • The Beacons were 1/3 on the power play and prevented Salem State from scoring on their lone power play of the game. 

  • Katie Wilbert went 7 for 3 on faceoffs, with the Beacons holding the slim advantage 27-26.
