Tennis Finishes Regular Season Undefeated

Boston, MA (Oct. 12, 2024) --- UMass Boston women's tennis finished their regular season with an 8-1 win over Western Connecticut State. The Beacons will now turn their sights on the Little East Conference Tournament where they are the No. 1 seed. 

Doubles 

The Beacons continued their hot streak at doubles sweeping their opponents 8-0 in all three games. Zainab Patel and Lydia Chan were paired in the 1st spot, Elena Albano and Ayonna Stuppard were in the 2nd spot, and Sandra Watson and Tatiana Malone rounded out doubles in the third spot. 

Singles 

Patel and Chan saw the same success in singles as they did in doubles, defeating their opponents 6-0, 6-0. In the number 3 spot, Ayonna Stuppard defeated Diana Rebelo 6-1, 6-4. Elena Albano, in the 4th position, took her match 6-1, 6-3 and Tatiana Malone finished out the wins for the Beacons with her 6-1, 6-3 win.

First Round - Oct. 15 

No. 3 Bridgewater State hosts No. 6 UMass Dartmouth  

No. 4 Plymouth State hosts No. 5 Salem State  

  

Semifinals - Oct. 17  

No. 1 UMass Boston hosts 4/5 Winner  

No. 2 Rhode Island College hosts 3/6 Winner 

  

Final - Oct. 19
