SALEM, MA (October 10, 2024) – The UMass Boston women's tennis team secured it's third consecutive Little East Conference regular season championship on the road against the Vikings of Salem State by a final score of 8-1.

Doubles
The Beacons won two of three doubles matches. Sophomore
Zainab Patel (Ahmedabad, India) and graduate
Lydia Chan (Quincy, Mass.) combined to topple juniors Madison Sartori and Kenzie McLaren (Doubles W-L: 5-4) by a final of 8-2 to improve to 8-1 as a duo for Chan's final regular season doubles match wearing the Beacons' jersey. Sophomore
Sandra Watson (West Palm Beach, Fla.) and first-year
Tatiana Malone (South Dennis, Mass.) swept Abigail Laliberte and Erin Curristin (2-6) to improve to 4-0 as a duo to end the season.
Singles
The Beacons swept each singles match for the third time this season, going 6-0 individually against the Vikings. Patel, Chan, and Watson each went 6-0, 6-0. Seniors Ayonne Stuppard (Randolph, Mass.) and
Elena Albano (Haverhill, Mass.) won both of their matchups with Stuppard winning 7-5, 6-4, and Albano winning 6-3 and 6-0. Malone won the final singles matchup of the day 6-4 and 6-0.
With the win, the Beacons secure their third consecutive LEC Regular Season Championship with one more LEC matchup against Western Connecticut and another non-conference against Endicott remaining in the season. Currently, the Beacons are 10-2 (7-0 LEC) winning their last five matches consecutively.
UMass Boston women's tennis will look to add to their three-peat-securing season on Saturday against the Wolves of Western Connecticut from Danbury, CT, at 1:00 p.m.
