Box Score NORTON, Mass. – Looking to build off their momentous Little East Conference win on Tuesday, UMass Boston Men's Tennis were unable to record their first win in program history against Wheaton College (Mass.) on the road Thursday afternoon, falling to the Lyons by a final score of 9-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UMass Boston would only be able to win one point across their three doubles matches as junior transfer
Patrick Ramos and sophomore
Felix Nguyen fell in the #1 Singles, 8-0, to seniors Josh Anschuetz and Chris Register. Freshman
Maxwell Dill and sophomore
Melvin Nina would record the lone point for the Beacons in the #2 Doubles which they dropped, 8-1, to senior Jack Luyrink and junior Eli Hanlon.
Sophomore
Karsten Bourgoine and freshman
Grady Friedman would be swept, 8-0, in the #3 Doubles by seniors Ethan Na and Gabe Fellows to give the Lyons a 3-0 team lead after the doubles.
Wheaton College would hit their five team wins quickly in the singles as Na dispatched Dill in the #2 Singles with a pair of 6-0 set wins followed by Register defeating Bourgoine in the #5 Singles 6-1 and 6-0 across both sets. Shortly after, the #4 Singles would go to Luyrink over Nguyen in the same fashion.
Closing out the afternoon, Ramos would drop only his second #1 Singles match of the season as he was taken down in two sets, 7-5 and 6-0, by Anschuetz. Meanwhile, the final match of the day between Nina and Hanlon in the #3 Singles would go to Hanlon in a three-set thriller as the sophomore took set one, 6-3, before dropping set two by the same margin. In the decisive third set, Nina would fall in the tiebreaker, 10-6, as the Beacons were swept, 9-0, by the Lyons.
