Low Reaches Century Mark In Blowout Win Over USM

Head Coach Tyler Low earned his 100th career victory behind a dominant 25-goal performance from the Beacons

BOSTON, MA - Behind a season-high 11 points from Gavin Admirand, UMass Boston Men's Lacrosse delivered Head Coach Tyler Low his 100th career win, defeating the Southern Maine Huskies by a final score of 25-9 on Tuesday night.

THE BASICS

UMass Boston 25, Southern Maine 9

UMass Boston (9-4, 4-0 LEC)
Southern Maine (2-9, 0-3 LEC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

The first half of Tuesday's Little East Conference showdown was a battle of scoring runs. Gavin Admirand and Jacob Banks each netted a pair of goals in the first 9:30 of the contest. Jason McNeany joined in on the scoring with a faceoff goal and Connor Smith capped off the 6-0 run with his 40th of the season.

The Huskies quickly took over with a run of their own, cutting their deficit to two courtesy of four goals scored across the end of the first quarter and the beginning of the second.

That 4-0 Southern Maine run was matched by four unanswered goals from the Beacons. Admirand's third and fourth goals as well as a score each from Charlie Chapman and Timothy Sullivan pushed the Beacons' lead back to six, 10-4.

A goal for Southern Maine interrupted the run but a goal apiece for Nolan Beauregard and Jacob Banks sent the Beacons into the half with a 12-5 lead.

In the second half, The Beacons held the Huskies to just one goal in each of the third and fourth quarters. Their offense continued its high-scoring ways, eclipsing the 25-goal benchmark for the fifth time this season.

The Beacons dominated time of possession thanks to a combined 36-38 effort in the circle by their three faceoff specialists. Jason McNeany led the way with a 17-18 showing while Matt Lucozzi added 15 wins in his 16 faceoffs and Jack DiFalco-Wheeler won all four of his attempts.

The all-around effort for the Beacons added up to a 25-9 victory, the 100th in the career of Head Coach Tyler Low.
