BOSTON, MA (November 18, 2023) – Women's basketball picked up their first win of the season against the Fitchburg State Falcons following an impressive offensive display from coach Jacob's squad, as the Beacs had four players in double figures. The the team shot above 40% from the field and forced 31 turnovers on 17 steals.

The the team shot above 40% from the field and forced 31 turnovers on 17 steals.
First-year guard
Sophie Bradbury lit up the field from beyond the arc, as she led the team in scoring with a team-high 16 points on 50% from the field. She connected on four of her seven attempts from beyond the arc. Bradbury also shared a team-high in total rebounds at six boards along with senior forward
Alexah Potter. Graduate guard
Keriann Farina was the primary playmaker for the squad with a team-high four assists. Despite the impressive offensive figures, the key to their first win of the season today was their active defense, as they forced 31 turnovers on 17 steals. A crucial component in scoring transition baskets that led to an overall effective team win. The final and most important key to their win today, was their bench production, as the Beacons' bench outscored the Falcons' total points by ten points, totaling 48 on the day.
In the first quarter, the Beacs recorded 13 points off of the Falcons' turnovers and recorded 12 of their 19 total first-quarter points in the paint. Beacs led the Falcons 19-9 following the first.
The second quarter was more of the same for the Beacons, as they continued to force their way into the paint with clean looks off of quick ball movement. They outscored the Falcons 22-12 in the second, to lead 41-21 at the halftime break.
The Beacons kept their foot on the gas pedal throughout the second half, as they outscored the Falcons 33-18 in the second half, as the Beacons seem have found their footing to get this season moving in the right direction.
The Beacons bring their record to 1-3 following today's win, as they resume action on Tuesday from the Clark Gymnasium in Boston, MA against the 2-2 Lasell University Lasers. Live stats and video coverage will be available at
