Box Score BOSTON, Mass. - For the third time in program history, the Umass Boston women's tennis team is advancing to the Little East Conference finals after defeating the Umass Dartmouth Corsairs 5-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
With electric energy from both sides of the court, matches were intense. The strong duo of
Zainab Patel and
Lydia Chan were able to secure the first win of the day, beating their opponents 8-3. Moments later, the veteran duo of
Ayonna Stuppard and
Elena Albano were able to improve on their already impressive record of 9-3, with a win at #2 Doubles. Finally,
Meagan Carney and
Sandra Watson got the win in the #3 Doubles match, 8-4 to set the Beacons up, needing only two more match wins to end the day.
Starting off the singles matches strong; Albano secured the win in the line #5 Doubles spot, 6-1, 6-0. With Albano's win, the Beacons were only one win away from advancing to the conference finals. Once again, playing from the second position, Chan was able to knock her opponent off her feet with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 win giving the Beacons their fifth and final match win needed to defeat the Umass Dartmouth Corsairs!
